For my event I decided to hypothetically create a “Behind Reality Television” event on the 15th of January in the Alfred L. Morse Auditorium. This consists in a screening of the pilot episode of season one of the well-known Reality TV show 90 Days Fiancé followed up by a panel with the cast revealing the untold truth behind the scenes. The participants in the panel included the season one participants: Russ and Paola, Alan and Kirlyam, Luis and Aya, Mike and Aziza.
This event focused on helping young adults understand the importance of realizing not everything portrayed on a screen is true and a real depiction of what we perceive as reality.
To promote the event I also chose the Boston Globe to write an article since the newspaper is both local, but also known enough to be a good promotional source and outlet to offer a good coverage for the event. The journalist I chose specializes in Television and Events having already covered such events.
