My PSA focused on revealing how the majority of Reality TV shows are constructed and tweaked for entertainment purposes disregarding the effect they might have on their audiences and viewers, especially the younger generations. This is why I decided to center my PSA on reminding audiences to be aware about the manipulation in these shows and to never fully believe what they see on-screen.
A couple is doing a tearful interview regarding their relationship, however the director interrupts them and the whole production constructing the reality portrayed through the screen is revealed.

In the first scene a couple is doing a sit-down interview, as seen in many Reality TV shows, and their tear covered faces reveal they are having some issues. For the second to the fourth scene this setting continues while the couple have an intense discussion about their personal lives. In the fifth scene, suddenly the director yells “CUT” and their hairdressers, makeup artists and many other members of the production are reveled on the screen. In the meantime, as it transitions into the sixth scene, the camera zooms out showing the set, lights, booms and all the equipment used to film, in this case specifically the interview. Once this is shown, in the seventh scene, the frame slowly blurs revealing the call to action, “Not everything you see is real”, along with the organization’s, MGH Clay Center for Young Minds’, information.
